Symbian is officially dead, Nokia doesn't make Symbian phones anymore. This Nokia Asha phone and all other Nokia Asha phones are feature phones(not smartphones). If you want a Nokia smartphone you have to look at the Nokia Lumia series which run on Windows Phone 7.5 & WP8

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Nokia, but why would you go for Symbian in this day and age. If I were going for an entry level smartphone, I'd defininately go for Android.
